Questions People Ask

Below are some of the questions prospective tutors frequently ask about joining our team. If you cannot find the information you are looking for, please feel free to contact us and we will be happy to assist.

We look for tutors who hold a relevant university degree in the subject they wish to teach. Previous tutoring or teaching experience is desirable, along with strong subject knowledge and the ability to explain concepts clearly and patiently.

Yes. All tutors must hold a valid enhanced DBS check before working with students. This helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils we support.

We work with tutors across a wide range of subjects and levels, including primary, GCSE, A-level and university preparation. Core subjects such as Maths, English and Science are always in demand, as well as languages and other academic subjects.

Yes. Tutors have flexibility to set their availability and preferred teaching format, whether that is in-person tuition or online lessons.

Most tutors work with us on a self-employed basis, which provides flexibility and independence. Tutors are responsible for managing their own tax arrangements, while we focus on matching them with suitable students.

No. Tutors can choose how many students they take on and set their own availability. Many tutors work with us alongside teaching roles, postgraduate study or other professional commitments.

Tutoring often takes place after school hours or at weekends, but tutors are free to decide when they are available to teach. We aim to match tutors with students whose schedules work well for both parties.

We provide guidance during the onboarding process and support tutors throughout their placements. Our team is available to assist with tutor–student matching, communication with families and any questions that arise.
